Located just about 10 minutes up the Poudre Canyon, Greyrock is a great after work speed tester. The out and back challenge is about 6 miles with 2000 vertical feet. Timer was started across the bridge by the trail map sign. Stay on the proper trail until the top T junction, looking directly at the rock itself. From there, anything goes. Blast through the forest and up the face of Greyrock or work your way around and up on either side. There are many possible routes which make this a fun outing. Tag the true summit then work your way back down to the T junction then fly down the trail to the starting point. From the top junction, my route mostly used the trail but then transitioned into scrambling and some climbing on the right side of the rock. Roundtrip FKT time is 1:05:29. Surely somebody with better hill climbing skills than myself can get under 1 hour, maybe. Any takers?
