I am wanting to get into Fastpacking and have not found much help on the internet. Personally I would like to run while Fastpacking but cannot find any decent packs online. I am 6'4 160lbs so finding a pack that fits is really tough. Can you do multiday trips with the UD PB Vest if you have drop supplies (food/water) onlong the route? I would want to carry a bed roll, Spot Tracker, shelter, food, clothes, etc... Any advise will be greatly appriciated!! Thanks!

Can you actually run with a fully loaded UD Fastpack without the pack swinging or bouncing? (weight being around 15-20lbs) I'll check out the backpackinglight forums. Thanks

I would personally never run with a 15-20lb pack, at least not more than an easy jog. I have run with the 20L UD Fastpack and it rides well for me.

Hey Peter I have a question for you. I've been using your UD PB adventure vest for awhile now and am looking into the fastpack soon, will the future 30l be able to hold the additional weight the volume allows while still running with no bounce? The extra space would be great just not sure if waitin for it is worth it. I'm trying to get my gear together for a 230 mile run I'm lookin into early next year. Thanks for any advice

The design specs on the Fastpack models were for up to 20lb recommended weight. Beyond that it would be hard to call it fastpacking. Still, I have used both models with up to about 23lb (hiking). The main differences between the 2 models are the volume, the removable stiffener in the 30, and the shoulder strap pockets. Also, the 30 rides slightly lower and so the side pockets are a bit easier to reach. I think they carry weight similarly. But, if you want/need more volume then the 30 would be a good choice.

Excellent thank you so much for the input. I don't see my run going too fast, and I plan on supporting myself as much as I can so I think I may hold off for the 30l. Ooh it's goin to be hard to wait for it now

Hi there - I thought I'd chip in. I actually write a blog about fastpacking which you might find helpful? here is a link to my beginners guide, but I've got a fair amount of information about kit, organising trips, finding water etc. which you might find useful bit.ly/1smNYwp Enjoy!

If you're after a pack, my personal recommendation would be this one too - bit.ly/1rk4wHv Usually the ones with 'fastpack' in the title aren't quite as well thought out and are usually more of a walking than running specialised pack. I hope this helps.
