I know some folks have been talking about and have done the Canmore Quad. This has meant starting in town somewhere then summiting Grotto, Lady Mac, Ha ling and EEOR with running between. I was wondering if there was an official course or if one is allowed to go as fast as you can AS LONG as you start and finish at the same point in town and then summit all 4 mountains. Also what is the summit of lady mac? the ridge? Thanks Run Bum www.RunBumTours.com

Just ran up Ha Ling - it's the quickest time on Strava right now - 34:09 - I think the strava leg starts from where the trail goes into the woods - to the summit. Time from carpark to summit - 36:01

Both Phil Villeneuve (http://x-cphil.blogspot.com/2011/09/canmore-4-peaks-challenge.html)and Andy Reed (http://canmoremd.blogspot.ca/2013/07/the-canmore-quad-take-2.html?m=1) have blogged the details, Adam Campbell holds current record set June 8, 2014 in just under 9:23!
There is also now a Banff Challenge: Cascade, Rundle, Sulphur first completed by Paul Wathan in 15:32 (http://thebigadventurearoundtheglobe.blogspot.ca/2013/08/banff-3-peaks-challenge-21st-of-august.html) and new record set on October 18, 2013 by Ian MacNairn in 12:55

On August 2nd, 2014, Ryan Atkins ran the Canmore Quad, in 9:19:58. Here is my GPS file. www.movescount.com/moves/move37513749It was a beautiful day, got started at around 5:15am, and pushed hard until the end. I took a poor route through town on the first pass through, but figured it out on the second pass. Overall, a very difficult run, with tons of climbing and descending.

Nice job, Jeff! Nordic Center to the summit of Grotto in 2 flat is no joke! What route did you take through town? I like your idea of starting at the Nordic Center too, must've been a mental relief to see the finish as you headed down Spray Lakes Rd.

Hey, From the Nordic Center I headed down the Canmore Trail to the river, along the river pathway, over the bridge (Bridge Rd) to 8th St, right turn onto the 1A and straight out to the Alpine Club to begin the ascent of Grotto.

I believe this most recent fkt by Jeff doesn't count. No gps file, and no summit pictures. Especially on this route it is too easy to not visit the true summits (lady Mac). Please adhere to requirements if you would like to be believed as the holder of the fkt. Requirements: fastestknowntime.proboards.com/thread/19?page=1

Canmore Runner has information on this route and the FKT history, and credits Jeff Krar with the FKT of 9h17m30s (as reported above). The route is "around 53km of running, with 4,892m of ascent". Track from Canmore Runner
