- 30.1 miles
- 9000+ elevation gain
- starts at Davidson River Campground just North of Brevard, NC
- ends at the Daniel Boone Boy Scouts Camp at the foot of Cold Mountain in the Shining Rock Wilderness
From browsing Web logs, the trail is run regularly at 7+ hours. There seems to be an annual run called ALTAR (Art Loeb Trail Adventure Run) that happens the Saturday before the winter solstice. Anywhoo, seems like a good trail for an FKT.

Matt Kirk or Adam Hill would probably know an FKT for this trail (one of them probably holds it!). Check in with the WNC Trail Runners crew. I've run it in 8:35 (not at all FKT material!), but I'm 90% sure it's been run in the 6-6:30 range.

Has anyone reported a GPS recorded FKT on this route. I haven't found any data suggested anything official.

Morgan Elliot and I have run this route. Here is some GPS Data. There is one start/stop issue at the beginning, but my GPS does show the total elapsed time (including moving/not moving). www.strava.com/activities/516593749
