Mostly looking to create an official thread for Guadalupe Peak, the high point of Texas. I couldn't find anything on an FKT in the Mountains or Trails sections so I figured I would start one. The fastest times I have found has been 1:24:07 by Brad B in 2015 for men and 2:23:36 by Sarah Willis in 2015 for women. I am not from the area so post if those times have since been improved upon. I am looking into a trip to the area in January with a possible attempt in the mix.

Good luck Witlain. I will be attempting 4 tallest peaks(or 6 tall peaks??) as a day challenge when I am at TX late December. I will be mostly hiking and not running as most of it is off trail. This is my first post attempt and I am new to FKT as well. So not sure if the off trail attempts are even considered as FKT. Any attempts before? As far many search goes, I only see this tpwmagazine.com/archive/2015/aug/ed_1_peaks/index.phtml

I'm not sure that I will attempt in the next year. I have decided to focus on another FKT and races elsewhere. You would have to check out the Read This First! Section and see what others say about off-trail travel. I would assume, as with the Nolan's 14, that it is essentially just a specific start and end location and then the major peaks you must hit between them. That would leave the specifics of routes up to each individual and their preferences. It certainly sounds like an interesting route and would certainly deserve its own thread. Good luck with that!
