Hey y'all,
I'm planning (health dependent) on doing an out-and-back on the Silver Comet Trail in early September. I haven't come across any info on someone doing either the full length, or an out-and-back on the entirety of the trail. I'll be starting at mile 0, going to the GA-AL line at mile 61.5, then returning back to mile 0 for a total of ~123 miles. Not 100% sure whether this will be a self-supported or supported attempt yet, I will update closer to the time of the attempt. Regardless, let me know if y'all have heard of anyone doing this/want to be a part of it. The more the merrier!

Hey y'all,
Plan is to head out on the night of Sept. 1st to go for the complete out and back for 123 miles. I have two garmins, and will track the run through those bad boys.

Hey Erich,
Were you able to get the run in?

Ah I wish. I was just looking back and remembered I didn't post an update on here.
I started off at night in Smyrna which led to a few more hurdles than I was prepared for. The largest being that 'technically' you're not supposed to use the trail at night and I was running in very close proximity to people's homes late at night. It proved to be pretty sketchy. I called a ride after a few hours and haven't been back yet.
However, I am looking to go back for a point-to-point sometime this year (during daylight hours). Most likely starting at the Alabama line and ending at mile 0 in Smyrna. I'll post here again when those plans are more concrete!
