In mid-June of 2017, I plan on running the length of the Cross Vermont Trail (XVT) from east to west. This trail is a 90-mile patchwork of old railroad beds, bike paths, country roads and state highways that connect the Wells River valley and the Winooski River valley to create a full East-West trail corridor across Vermont. It is a multi-use path and seems to be more popular with cyclists than foot travelers. To my knowledge, no one has run the length of the XVT in a single push. I will attempt to do so in solo self-supported fashion, running alone and resupplying my foods and liquids from general stores along the way. I will update this thread with dates and details once we are into June. Trail information and history can be found here.UPDATE: Nagging injury and more exciting goals are going to delay this attempt until the Fall at least. Will update again when the time is right.
