Hey Everyone, I wanted to see if anyone knows of a South Kaibab-River-South Kaibab FKT. I've seen some Strava records for the descent and climb, but wasn't sure if there was an FKT for the whole route. And if there is, what exactly the route is. It seems that going to Phantom Ranch and back would be logical, but there's also water (that doesn't need treating) at Silver Bridge. I was thinking of going down, crossing the SK bridge, across to Silver, refilling water, crossing on Silver, then back to the SK on the south side of the river to make a little loop before heading back up. But if there's precedent for going to Phantom Ranch, I may do that instead. Planning on this Sunday, unsupported.

Just curious if there are any other known times for the various other rad trails in the canyon? Just ran the Hermit Trail round-trip and was curious what a good time would be on that to gauge fitness. Cheers, Jeremy Duncan Here are a few of the non-corridor trails that I (we) have run over the past few years. (Note: These times would be pretty easy to beat since we ran but also stopped a bit to actually enjoy the canyon). Nankoweap out-and-back (26ish miles) - 11.5 hours (I have yet to hear of anyone running this before or after we did) Tanner-to-Beamer-to-LCR and back (38ish miles) - 11 hours (I have yet to hear of anyone running this before or after we did) Tanner-to-Escalante Route-to-New Hance (26 miles) 10.5 hours (Jason Henrie did this in about 9 hours after we completed the route) Hermit-to-Tonto-to-Bright Angel (26ish miles) 8 hours (there have definitely been times faster than this) Grandview-to-Tonto-to-New Hance - (18 miles) 6.5 hours (I am sure others have done this faster) Ken Patrick-to-Old Bright Angel Route-to-North Kaibab (15 miles) 4.5 hours Hermit-Boucher Loop (22 miles) - 8 hours (Jason Henrie ran this in about 6.5 hours) South Kaibab-to-North Kaibab-to-Clear Creek Trail and back (36ish miles) - 10 hours Deer Creek-Thunder River Loop (26 miles) - 11 hours

Hey everyone! Do FKTs exist for both the S. Kaibab-N. Kaibab-S. Kaibab route and for the Bright Angel-N. Kaibab-Bright Angel route? I should know this but I'm new to the site. Thank you! Kim Wrinkle

Sunday, May 1st I will be attempting to break RAS(Jason's) R2Rx6 record which I'm calling the "triple traverse" because I love alliteration... and apparently suffering greatly (yeah, yeah... I know it's technically a sextuple traverse but I'm more of a r2r2r guy than just a simple r2r guy;-). I'll be using the South and North Kaibab trails for a total distance of approximately 127 miles with 30,000 feet of elevation gain. My crappy self published website will have some details of the attempt as they happen and if you'd like to join my mom as the only other person on earth who finds tracking satellite dots of my progress interesting... my SPOT tracker link is below. I'm going solo and self supported because that's what Jason did and he's a badass... and I want to be a badass. Lets DO this!

UPDATE: So the spring weather was a little nuts. Monsoon rains the whole week before, 3 inches of fresh snow on the north rim and starting the south rim at 4am by getting pelted by hail/sleet/snow. Made great time through the first 42 miles but couldn't control my body temperature and after 3 hours of unsuccessfully trying to warm up, decided against heading into the 20 degree canyon overnight. This is such a classic route and I love the "triple" being a true 100+ mile attempt. I'll be back after the blistering hot summer for another crack at this FKT. See you in September.

Hello, I just thought I'd ask about the Female R2R. I see that the R2R2R Female FKT has been established. What about the Female R2R? Is there an established time for it? Is it Bethany Lewis's split? If so what is it? Curious because I'm interested in going for a R2R FKT here soon if I can get my travel arrangements down. Also if it is not established, is it fair game if I go run it? Thank you! Anna Mae

According to the interview on iRunFar.com Bethany started her R2R2R on the North Rim, and her split to the South Rim was 3h47m. So that looks like the time to beat.
