On Saturday October 22nd I will attempt to do a out and back double route of the Cumberland Trail 3 gorges segment starting at Lower Leggett rd parking lot, out to the terminus of the section at Mowbray pike and then a return to Lower Leggett rd. 68 miles in total. I am doing this to establish a fastest known time (FKT) and to my knowledge only time time on this route in a singular push. In the spirit of the FKT I am publicly announcing my attempt.
Since I will be the first, to my knowledge to do this, I get to set the "rules". I will be 100% self sufficient, with the inclusion of water/food purchase at the store on HWY 111. So this will be a self supported attempt.
