This information is from www.adventurelifesa.com: At 03h27 on the 1st May 2016, Terence Vrugtman and Jason Gradwell successfully completed the first known 'FKT' (Fast Known Time) styled crossing of the Magaliesberg Major Traverse. Starting at Hartebeesport Dam Wall, Terence and Jason traversed incredibly tough terrain for 77.49km all the way to Olifantsnek Dam Wall in a total time of 24hours 28 minutes and 14 seconds. “Although the Magaliesberg Major Traverse has been completed by a scarce few hikers, after chatting to various people in the MCSA, Scouts SA, Trail Community, JHB Hiking Club and Search and Rescue no one could recall an attempt to or successfully complete a traverse of the Magaliesberg in one go.” said Terence. The team of 2 tackled the traverse with a few goals in mind, which they hoped will become the standard for any Magalies FKT attempt. 1.Start at Hartebeestport Dam Wall and Finish at Olifantsnek Dam Wall. 2.Visit all 15 Check Points (visit the link on this website) 3.Plan your own route. 4.This is a self-navigation and unsupported FKT. Can this be changed to 'unsupported'. At the time of writing I was aware of the specific terminology and definition.
This was completed without external help or stashing.

Hi
So what is the minimum distance for a traverse? I would like to do a mini Magalies traverse in Pretoria between the nek at Wonderboom High school and the quarry next to the N1 (I run sections of it quite often). My guess is that it is only about 8km
GPS start coordinates: -25.693340, 28.203761 GPS end coordinates: -25.694882, 28.269721

I believe Stijn L and co broke this record since the above. Not sure of their time, though.
