Is it appropriate to post an FKT on this site for an effort which is a mix of running and mountain biking? I would develop a criteria for how much cycling is allowed and where for the specific route. There is an established FKT for this route already based on 100% running.

I suppose so, if it is logical to mix in biking. Sure, why not!

I believe Michael Popov is going for a "Human Powered" record around Lake Tahoe TRT. It is about 50/50. Obviously he would have to break Killian's time doing this.

I was wondering a similar thing. Theres a climb I'm interested in where the road is closed several miles from the trailhead, and nearly everyone bikes to the trail head (there is even a bike rack at the trailhead). I've been on a bunch of training runs/rides up around there and have no interest in running the extra mileage when that would put me in the vast minority of people who attempt the climb. Also adding several miles of basic road running doesn't seem all that interesting to me... That fair game?

Seems to me it would make the most sense, in the context of FKT, to simply record the FKT from the trailhead itself, rather than from the road closure.

Sounds good. Didn't know what was the standard.
