Morning all. Planning a self-supported run over 30 days starting 1st June 2016. I believe this will be an FKT as the only people I know to have attempted it were part of a TV documentary and took 40 days (still searching for a reliable source on this). More info at thelongwaydown2016.wix.com/news

Hey up I did the route barefoot in 38 (had 3 days off and wild camped 33 of the nights) self supported. 30s so doable with the right kits. Good luck.

Hi there, How did your run go UltraChicken Rich? Thanks for the wild camping tips via email Aleks. On the 10th May this year (2017) myself and my husband James are going to set off from Land's End following the 'End to End Trail' as described by Andy Robinson on the Cicerone guide to John O'Groats. The trail is 1,200 miles and we are aiming to do 30 miles each day, taking one planned rest day (for a friend's wedding). All being well it should take us around 40 days, possibly less. We plan to carry the majority of what we need for the run, posting a few items such as maps/trail notes to Post Offices along the way. We will eat and drink at cafes/pubs as we pass through towns and villages. Our plan fits the 'Self-supported' category but as we are inviting friends, family and randoms to join us along the way we don't want to say no to any cake etc that may be on offer! This means we will best fit the 'Supported' category. As we are running as a team of 2 I wondered if this affects any FKT attempt in the 'Supported' category? As there appears to be no official FKT for this trail (unless the above mentioned count?) would we set both the male and female times if we successfully complete the trail? We will carry a Spot-tracker and keep a blog as we go. Any thoughts are gratefully welcomed. If you would like to follow our challenge, or indeed come and join us for a stretch, you can find out more at www.minaholder.com or follow us at www.facebook.com/runholders or www.twitter.com/MinaRunNzCheers, Mina
