The Rainbow Trail is one of the longer hiking trails in Colorado, after the Colorado Trail and the Colorado section of the CDT. It runs roughly parallel to the Sangre de Christo mountains in the South Central part of the state, starting at one end south of Westcliffe and at the other end south west of Salida, forming an upside-down J. The trail is roughly 100 miles long with around 24,000 ft of gain according to a TOPO! map of the route.
On Sunday, July 13, I, Cory Linfield, will attempt to run this trail in its entirety, starting at the Southeast end and finishing at the Northwest end. I will be supported by my wife, Allisa Linfield and some friends.

I hope Cory posts a full report, but he completed the Rainbow Trail in 30:59, finishing on July 14 going south to north.

Great run! This is something I want to do this year. Your report and Strava files are super helpful. Way to get after it!

I'll be attempting to break Cory's FKT (with the help of Cory) and establish the trail for females on Sept. 26th. I'll post a follow-up report after!
