Car to Car. Unsupported, to sign-in book and back. Starting and ending in Sandstone Quarry turn out off of Red Rock Loop. This is a very popular route with a big pay off view of Vegas and the surrounding peaks. We're going this Friday 9/21/12 at around 7 am. Jon Gerber is the specialist at this distance, he should easily post the FKT.

1hr 1min 58sec A jog/power walk most of the way up. Made a wrong turn at the saddle that cost some time. Descended cautiously near the saddle, where it gets steep and a little scetchy. Hiked this route a few times, but it's still tough to find a solid route in places. I think a pro or elite amateur that found a good line could take this down to 50 min without much of a problem. I have done this route several times and start/end at the Visitor's center Trailhead. It's to the left of the building, by the picnic tables, with a big sign and various distances listed for Moenkopi/Calico Hills, etc. When I figure out how to upload photos to this site I'll add a few. From the VC you curve around to the right, run the Calico's, and then Sandstone Quarry parking lot to Turtlehead Peak, which is 2.2mi or so from there. My times: From visitor's center: 2:03:49. 11.0mi with 3k of gain. From sandstone quarry: 1:01:09. 4.2mi with 2k of gain. Can't wait for my next visit to focus on just the climb. I'll try to post beforehand and see if anyone wants to join. Todd connect.garmin.com/modern/#activity/481869323

Sorry Todd, Jon's FKT (Pharm25) stands. His RunKeeper GPS and data are open to the public. Your Garmin data is not accessible. See the rules of reasonable observable proof. Maybe you can change your Garmin settings. Until then, Jon still has it.
