Eric Batty, 9h25m45s, Sept. 15, 2011.I just finished running the La Cloche Trail in Killarney yesterday. My time was 9hrs 25min 45sec for the full trail, including the 3 narrows section. I ran it with Ryan Atkins and he finished with a time of 10hr 45mins. As far as I know that is the fastest time for the trail. It is 80km in length and one of the hardest trails in Eastern Canada. Full recap of the run will be up soon at: www.mountainaddictathlete.com/Mountain_Addict_Athlete/Blog_Twitter.html

Nice job Eric! From what I know you crushed the previous record held by Mark Arnold which I believe was 16 hours and change.

Looking forward to running this loop this week. Did you do it clockwise or counterclockwise? Also, did you go up Silver Peak and is that included in your time?
Thank you

Chantal - Did you run the trail? Some friends and I are going to do it July 9 this summer (12:00 goal). I'm keen to get any intel available.

I ran this Last Halloween.... not a recommended time of year..... the combination of lack of daylight, freshly fallen leaves, persistent rains and high winds create less than ideal running conditions. READ: You're gingerly stepping along as everywhere you step has the equivalent traction to ice. It was 'fun', and I aim to return under ideal conditions to significantly drop my time. Searching for rock cairns in the dark (it was fall so half of the run was at night), chews away at your time too. Summer to early fall is likely your best window to run it. Ample daylight, no leaves and it tends to be drier. Check out the blog report
