Joey Camps, trail name "Flash" will be hiking South Bound early August following the self supported rules listed above. The rules that "Anish" followed when she set the record. I also included Joe Mcconaughey "thestringbean" on here as well, because he is out on the trail currently and has a great shot at setting the new bar. As per the rules, I have to best the time and follow the same or more stringent rules. I will be posting delayed to Instagram @joey.camps and Facebook. Also, Matt Kirk has come up with a way to map my gps coordinates and that link will be available when we work out all the bugs. I will also have a track leaders map, privately shared with Matt and Peter Bakwin that will become public when I finish. I want to be transparent as possible but also avoid outside interference. Please do not try to find me on the trail or offer support in any way. I hope that you all can follow along(via the interwebs) and enjoy the journey with me! Peace and Love Joey Camps "Flash"

Here's Joey's track map: mapalist.com/map/638124Note: this map automatically charts data from a SPOT device. Timestamps are reformatted into elapsed time (dd:hh:mm) and delayed to deter anyone from trying to come find him on the trail! When finished, all raw data will be made available.

Referring the the header/summary, Is there a distinction between Joe and Heather's self supported records or does Joe supercede Heather as the overall FKT with Heather retaining the women's FKT?
All hugely impressive Rob (from UK)

Stringbean here! In a self-supported attempt, I summited Katahdin after 45 days 12 hours 17 minutes 0 seconds I have compiled and created some data to help with the veracity of my attempt. I know a lot of people were following me @thestring.bean on instagram, and I, obviously, want to make other data from my attempt public. Off of my spot tracker time, I began my northbound self-supported FKT attempt on 7/17/17 at 06:31:18 and arrived at Mt. Katahdin at 8/31/17 at 16:41:18. My official time is 45d12h17m0s, averaging just over 48 miles a day. It was truly a wild journey, I will have memories that will last me a lifetime. I hope my run inspires others to attempt the self-supported FKT. If you are hoping to go after the self supported record, feel free to reach out to me on instagram @thestring.bean, and PLEASE make sure you have read the self-supported criteria or have asked the community or Peter about any questions you might have before your journey. Included is my Spot Tracker (GPS) data with coordinates and times, and I have also created a google doc which summarizes my campgrounds each day, distance, distance per active hour and a little more. - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FbzWa70wnB5HCIx44dLmXRjPAtLP8jbfjtHpsnv4HL4/edit?usp=sharing(for some reason, time is on ASKT, 4 hours back from EST) - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fapbSF6WyEOxp6jtpL7TPwjGcrNhACmmGwgYettbQX8/edit?usp=sharingAlso, I wanted to give a shout out to Karl Meltzer and Heather Anderson for their incredible efforts and being very supportive of my endeavors, I hope the good vibes can continue! Also, thank you Peter and FKT community who volunteer there time and put in a lot of work behind the scenes. Pilot Fields is looking to create a documentary from the footage I compiled, so stay tuned. This doc was made leading up to my run! I'm also trying to put together a website/blog which I will post once a few things come together on my end! Happy Trails!
