Mount Hale, Fireman's Trail, 1h10m51sAnother one for you faster runners to knock down. did this today on accident as I was trying to do North Twin. You can see on the map where I got a little confused but was sooo close to the right trail before chosing the wrong one! connect.garmin.com/activity/562740391

Mount Isolation, 4h21m55sStarted this at 5 pmish, hiked through clouds and out in the dark. Moving time appx 4hrs..very slow coming down due to dark, fog, and terrain. A few spots were easy to run but most was difficult for me to move fast on. Very cool hike and great experience! connect.garmin.com/activity/563844153

Direttissima
On September 15th, 2014 I completed an unsupported route climbing all 48 peaks in 11 days and 14 hrs. I carried all my food and other supplies for the entire trip and everything was connected on foot. This was inspired by Mats Roing's trek in 07. He took under 11 days but as far as I know I'm the first woman to complete it. : ) It was a great adventure and I'll write a trip report this weekend.

As far as I know, this is the FIRST truly unsupported New Hampshire 48, male or female. While Matts Roing's effort was no doubt pioneering and very impressive, he didn't carry his camping gear to his first campsite, and he spent the last night in a Bed&Breakfast when the weather turned bad. That seems a little more than fully unsupported to me. Matts full report can be found in this thread: www.vftt.org/forums/showthread.php?18251-The-48-Direttissima-in-progress-update/page4Congrats Arlette Laan!

I finally finished the write up on my hike. You can find it at www.arlettelaan.wordpress.comI hiked such long hours because I'm a fairly slow hiker, I'm sure someone else can go quite a bit faster. : ) Arlette Laan

Great writeup Arlette! Really gives a great sense of the many challenges you faced, bad weather and all. That was a fantastic feat of true endurance! Those that don't know the Whites have no idea how rough those trail are.
Some questions on your time, which you reported in an earlier post as 11d14h. You trip report has you starting on Sept. 4 at 0630, reaching the final summit on Sept 15 at 2130, and the final trailhead on Sept. 16 at 0140. That would seem to give times of: trailhead to last summit: 11d15h00m trailhead to trailhead: 11d19h00m
Is that correct? Since you are seemingly the first person to do this truly unsupported, it would be good to have your time correct. Then, which time do you prefer? Just because the men's supported 48 goes trailhead to last summit (at least for now), doesn't mean the unsupported version has to.

I guess I can't do math. Trailhead to trailhead is fine. I think that's how Mats counted his. He just started this morning and got to Cabot at 7:30 am. : )

Hancock Loop FKT 10/5/14 1:39:05 connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/606606457#tab-statsI ran clockwise, and started and stopped at the guardrail on the west side of the Kanc to avoid including car dodging in the challenge. Mike Robinson was the previous holder with a 2:13:45. You have to like roots if you want to run fast on this one, but it has a bit of everything. The summit ridge is outstanding running.
