I am making a very ambitious plan to run the pemi loop this weekend with the intention of beating the FKT (if only to motivate myself to go harder). I likely will hit the trail on Saturday morning, going clockwise with no support and no food/water drops. I've never been on the trail and this is likely a stupid idea, but I need a challenge! Will report on the adventure should it go reasonably well..

ChillyWilly, that's really impressive following a Carter-Moriah FKT!

Thanks Kyle! Kind of wish I had saved some legs for this, but look forward to returning!

Any info available for time by age? I'll be 60 next July and would be curious to know how fast someone my age might have been able to complete the loop. I hiked it this past June for the first time in just under 14 hours (which I was quite happy with) including West Bond and breaks but wow these times are amazing. So a 60 year old...how fast???

I like the suggestion from JeffinMA to have a category for 60 yo+, I think it's a great way to inspire older runners to get out and have some healthy competition. I turned 60 a couple of mos ago, and I'm happy to kick off the FKT for that age with my run today of 10:21:37. www.strava.com/activities/1218319453
