My name is Joey Camps, you might know me from an epic failure on the AT unsupported record last summer. I am planning on giving the PCT a try this summer and of course I would try for the unsupported record. Because of the low snow (water) I was thinking of NoBo leaving May 5th-10th ish. I realize the desert might by hot(oh well). But I am wondering what people think about the trade off...low snow means drier/easier passing trail, less water for drinking, less water for crossing, chance of late snow in high sierras and bears...I hate bears. Thoughts...
