I can confirm that I dropped Lance off at the Journey's End Trailhead at approximately 9:30 pm on Monday June 13, 2016. He seemed pretty stoked for his adventure.

Good luck Lance! I may get on the trail in a few weeks just for some initial scouting, thinking about this FKT in the near future.

I began at 5:01 AM at the Canadian Border Tuesday June 14th. Tuesday: Border-Corliss Wednesday: Corliss-Taylor Thursday: Taylor-Birch Glen Friday: Birch Glen-Sucker Brook Saturday: Sucker brook- Clarendon I was on pace for 4 days and 14 hours. The record is within my reach but I will have to tweak Nutrition and foot care. I will try it again at least once more this season. I will adjust my issues. I won't bother with an in depth write up. I will re-post when i attempt again

Heck of a good effort with daily mileages of 38.3, 34.7, 32.8, 36.0, and 42.8. (But I assume you mean you were on track for 6d14h, not 4d14h.) This compares well to Travis' first 5 days with 31.7, 32.6, 34.9, 32.6, 43.0 (who then finished with 41.5 and 56.4).

I'm going out for another go at the unsupported record. North to south, most likely starting Saturday around 5:30 a.m., though I may hold off til Sunday depending on the weather. -Alicia Hudelson aliciasrunningandracing.blogspot.com/

I too will be going for the unsupported record, starting from the northern terminus most likely around 5am on August 2.
Interestingly enough, I'll be starting about ten days after Alicia. Alicia, if you read this, hope your hike went well. I'd love to hear what you're time is if successful in case my goal time needs to adjust.

All yours, Eli. I just bailed about 4 hours ago after 201 miles. I was surprised to still be on pace with Travis's splits but my feet are too much of a mess and I couldn't handle the pain anymore.

I was on the trail for 4d 14h and ahead of the FKT at that point by about 11 miles. I have the next few weeks off again and will be getting on the trail sometime between the 8th and the 10th. I am on the fence as to whether I will be doing an unsupported go or a self supported go. In either case I will be aiming at sub 6d 17h 25m pace, and taking what I learned from my last attempt.

I'm guessing the Nickademus posting is the Nickademus of ultra marathon running fame? Barkley and Cruel Jewel winner? There could be other speedy dudes with that name though

I'll be attempting a 7 day unsupported SOBO hike, which would put me within striking distance of Mr. Wildeboer's unsupported record. If everything runs perfectly, I may have a shot. I'll be starting on September 10th at 4am. I'll have my Delorme inReach tracking at this link: goo.gl/M6E9JT

Go Steve! On pace with Wildeboer's effort so far! Looks like he stayed at Spruce Ledge Camp on night 1, then Barnes Camp last evening, and he passed onto map 6 at Mt. Mayo at 10:30am. Currently on the approach to Bolton Mt. I love the Delorme tech he's using. Living vicariously!
