Blessings, Once Again!
At 10:16 AM on Friday September 18, 2015, Kathy and I left the Mexico Border heading north to attempt to yo-yo the Arizona National Scenic Trail. We touched the Utah border at 2:51 PM Wednesday, November 4, then turned around and headed once again toward the southern terminus. We reached the Mexico Border again to complete our journey at 4:38 PM, Sunday, December 20, 2015, establishing an Only Known Time for a yo-yo of the AZT of 93 days, 6 hours, and 22 minutes. We did not accept any rides or hitchhike to or from any resupply point, adding 68 additional miles to the 1600 of the AZT itself. The entire trip was completed feet-on-the-ground thru-hiker style. We accepted trail magic and were surprised on the trail numerous times by friends and supporters, but it was all spontaneous on the behalf of those who blessed us with their support. None of it was pre-arranged, and were in no way counting on any such aide, nor had it been worked into our planning and logistics. Complete details will be posted in upcoming trip reports on UltraPedestrian.com, videos on our YouTube channel (link below), and in our forthcoming book Across Arizona As One, which will detail not only this year's yo-yo, but Kathy's establishing of the inaugural Women's FKT in the spring of 2014.
