Hi All -- new to your interesting site and have a question I'm betting has been duscussed before: like road racing (and tons of other recreational sports), is there any interest in recognizing age group records? Just wondering.
This topic was the specific reason I registered. No comments at all?
I have looked a bit through the records and have not found any listings for seniors or age groups. This is pretty unusual as for all endurance sports I am aware of there are such age related categories. IS this just something which has not really started up yet since the emphasis on FKT hiking times is pretty new?
From following the AT for about 20 years there is likely good evidence for being able to roughly document some kind of age records for that trail and likely many others.
Question for Admin: If one provided reasonable evidence for FKT age related times for various trails would they be included in this sites data?

No we have generally not recognized age groups. FKT activity is still a tiny niche. If you wish to compete at the level of age groups probably it is best to stick with organized races. Something like the AT, which has been hiked by thousands of people, might be different. But still, I'm sure there are MANY people who do not report their completions or times, so age related info that is available would likely be meaningless.
