On Thu, Jul 24, 10pm, I started the following challenge: - Climb Mt. Adams (South Route, starting from the Cold Springs TH)
- Run from Mt. Adams to Mt. St. Helens
- Climb Mt. St. Helens (from Chocolate Falls)
All of that nonstop, without sleep. I finished the challenge on Sat, Jul 26, in 38h17min. According to GoogleEarth, the entire route is about 90mi with over 30,000ft of EG. The run between Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens mainly led along the boundary trail #1. Sadly, motorcycles are allowed on this trail. Many sections are thus deeply rutted, which makes running hard.
Here's a short clip that documents the adventure:
I've uploaded the entire route to Strava: www.strava.com/activities/171389723 Note that Strava calculates its own distances, so they are slightly different from the original Suunto Ambit2 data. Also, the GPS was on a 60s interval to save battery, so it logs short. The Strava "Moving Time" does not consider any pace >20min/mi because the GPS was in run mode during the two climbs as well.
