I think this is insufficient research into this. Peter Croft did it car to car, and 15 hours on route. Matt Samet, Alex Honnold, and others have done this route car to car as well.

Great! Please provide more details of previous activity on this route. Thank you!

Kiff Alcocer went Darwin Benches to Huxley in 13h 30m on 8/17/13 which I believe is the best known on-route time. Myself and partner started at the same time and finished 3.5h behind him. I believe this is Matt Samet's TR, which indicates he made camp and did not CTC. Perhaps he has returned and bested his previous, would love to hear that account. www.rockclimbing.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=716876#716876Croft's published account states he made camp at Darwin Benches, didn't CTC - perhaps he returned and did it in a push. Would certainly not be surprised. Love to hear that account. Aaron Richards held the previous FKT at 29h 20m CTC. Haven't heard the Honnold account. What's the story? I believe there was one from his 2008 traverse but I believe that he said he base camped.

I meant to say foremostly, I don't know Vitaliy M. personally but did communicate with him online after his traverse and read his accounts. There has been fairly decent record keeping and research on this (e.g. Jediah Porter, www.jediahporter.com/2012/10/sierra-speed.html). Vitaliy's time is presently considered the FKT by myself and those I've spoken with who've also done the route. Doing this car to car is impressive no matter what time you log. Austin did the 24 hour car to car after doing the route a year or two prior. Vitaliy did it on his first attempt on the route. Is there a report from Aaron Richards?

On September 9, I did the traverse in 17h42m car-to-car. Splits: - Piute TH (2:49 AM)
- Lamarck Col (4:44)
- Gould (6:36)
- Mendel (7:46)
- Darwin (9:18)
- 13,332' (11:31)
- Haeckel (12:29 PM)
- Wallace (12:59)
- Crumbling Spire (1:19)
- Fiske (2:14)
- Warlow (3:12)
- Huxley (4:04)
- Lamarck Col (7:09)
- Piute TH (8:31)
Trip report. Like others here, I wouldn't be surprised if there were other similar or faster times, as the route is famous enough to attract attention from Real Athletes.
