I was curious why it seems some people include Clay as a part of the Presidential Traverse. It has been mentioned a few times, and the current FKT holder Ben Thompson went over it on his run, however it's only a sub-peak of Washington, and also no named after a president, so is it really a part of the traverse? I understand that it might add aesthetic appeal, but if going for an FKT, wouldn't it be more efficient to skip it and remain on the gulfside trail?

Because it's more aesthetic to stick to the ridgeline whenever possible.

has anyone ever rucked the traverse for time? Yes, but it’s been known as “hiking”. It’s like mountain running but slower.

but hiking is different than rucking, or so I thought?

Hi, I have no delusions of an fkt for this just simply want to run it. Can anyone recommend the best maps and or guide book for the Presidential Traverse? Thanks Brad
