I'm planning to run across California in early August, from the Nevada state line to the ocean. The first ~100 miles will be on the Western States Trail and it should be about 250 miles overall. I'm aiming to go for the women's supported FKT for a cross California trek. According to my research, most previous efforts were done as part of runs across America. Does anyone know of efforts faster than ~10 days for women?
Grateful for this board which helped me decide which satellite to use and underscore the importance of documenting the effort! Going to use SPOT as well as a gps watch and social media to document the effort.

Hey everyone, Wanted to share a bit about how this journey went! Quick links: SPOT: share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0rgG3fqbQBx7t23sbbLmMEgB5nLq7ChNx (not sure why only recent points are showing!) Strava: www.strava.com/athletes/3438509Instagram: www.instagram.com/runningacrosscalifornia/* We documented the journey via SPOT, Strava, & Instagram. I ran 176 miles in a week from the Nevada state line in Crystal Bay to Fairfield, California. We didn't accomplish our goal for me to make it all the way across California and set an FKT. That said, I'm pleased with how it went as I was able to run 5 marathons in 5 days which was pretty cool! * This was my first time using a Spot and found it really fun for friends and family to follow along. * This was a supported effort and I had two friends along with me who helped out and set their own personal goals for the journey (like running 100 miles in 10 days for example) * By day 8, my quads just gave out and I could no longer bend my legs to walk it in to our goal finish line. * Overall this was a fun trip with friends and a good first try for an FKT. I know more traditionally, FKTs are on set trails and through this experience I feel more confident to go for one! * If anyone ever wants to try to do a similar adventure across California let me know! I'd be happy to share any tips and about our route and such.
