Anyone know of any speed records on Katahdin, in ME? I'm planning to head up there this summer at some point when I have the time off (working down near Greenville, ME at this point).

I've been wondering this myself. I found an account of Karl Meltzer getting up Abol slide trail in 1:20 (at the beginning of his AT record attempt, so he prob wasn't going too hard). I tried to get close to this twice this season. I made it in 1:25 with a round trip of 2:35 this fall (watch stopped at the summit for 5-10 mins for obligatory pics) connect.garmin.com/activity/386741824 |

Not an all out FKT, but Dave Dunham and I ran the re-route of the Abol Trail this past Sunday (7/31/16). 1:41:56 to the summit, 3:37:32 round trip. Plenty of room in this one. Just a benchmark. www.strava.com/activities/660192261/overview |
